Negotiating Reasonable Accommodations

Many people with MS at some point in their career may need to request a reasonable accommodation to help them perform the duties of their job. The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires an employer to provide a reasonable accommodation to an employee or job applicant with a disability, unless doing so would cause significant expense or business hardship for the employer. Discuss your rights under the ADA as it applies to requesting an accommodation, the process for making a request and share the employer’s perspective on how to negotiate for the best outcome.
