The diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) is often challenging. This presentation will detail important recent changes to the diagnostic criteria for MS while also situating these revisions within the evolution of the criteria over time. The persistent problem of MS misdiagnosis will be discussed, including potential causes and prevention strategies based on recent data, with a focus on proper application of contemporary MS diagnostic criteria.
